Kevlar Utility Thread and Cord - Friction Saw, Snare Wire, Escape Tool.

Kevlar Utility Thread and Cord - Friction Saw, Snare Wire, Escape Tool.

Kevlar Utility Thread + Cord
(primary use is a cutting tool for sawing wood, ropes, flex-cuffs, etc. Functions as a snare wire, escape tool, fishing line, tiedown, etc)

Both Kevlar types are friction resistant and rated to 200lb tensile strength. This allows them to be used as a friction saw by grasping ends of strands and using a back and forth motion to concentrate on the item being cut. Compare this to those cheap metal teeth camp saws and see which lasts longer. You'll never find a more compact saw. This can be packed in a micro Survival Kit or carried on your person as a covert Escape Tool.Ā

Available in multiple lengths. Cut from spool.Ā

KEVLAR UTILITY THREAD, K.U.T. (yellow)

Medium Strength Kevlar Saw: 200lb tested. UV/Friction Resistant. Adopted by US Army SERE specialists and NAVY Seals. Compact thin threads. Twisted threads, can unravel easily so ends must be tied off to prevent accidental loosening. This also allows individual strands to be removed and improvised in other uses.

KEVLAR UTILITY CORD, K.U.C. (black)

Heavy Duty Kevlar Saw: 600TEX rating. 200lb tested. UV damage proof. Friction Resistant. Tight threaded braid, stays together with no need to tie off ends. Thick strand.Ā

Ā Kevlar Sawing Utility Thread

  • A. Use long back & forth sawing motions to reduce friction/damage to K.U.T. Concentrate sawing on a single point of item being cut. B. Wear gloves to protect your hand or create handles from a pen/stick.
  • Fashion a bow saw, catch wild game using as a snare wire, make a trip line, use as garrote.Ā
  • Saw branches/zipties/ropes.
  • Each Kevlar can saw multiple times, 1-1000. The durability of the Kevlar is dependent on how you use the saw. Be sure to use long strokes so that the friction is not concentrated on the same section of the Kevlar.
